Growler, from brewery. Pours a nice dark copper body with a one finger frothy off-white head that settled to a wispy partial covering. The nose is fresh green leafy hops with a juicy citrus character. There’s some toasted malt below, but this beer is clearly about the hops. The flavor is a bit rough though. The hops aren’t very bright at all, they’re very grassy and have a bitterness level that’s very quinine like. The malt comes out on the finish, but it’s mostly a soggy cereal grain quality. There’s just too much bitterness and not enough hop flavor. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with soft light carbonation. Not one that I’d order a second time.
