Commercial Description:
A Scottish style beer with a rich malt flavor and aroma. The use of a special unique style malt adds a mild smokiness. A dark beer with a multitude of flavor.

On tap at the Pints for Pets brewfest. Dark near black color. Super dark and smoky aroma and flavor, with smoked malts being the focus. Pretty hot in the chest. A tad thin body.

Dark brown with lace. Sour taste out of sweetness, sour rather than much smokiness. Almost as if a sour pickel was thrown in the mash. Light mouthfeel. Like a dunkel beer.

On tap, at brewpub. Pours a clear dark brown colored body with no head at all and no visible carbonation. Aroma is quite malty with some light smoke, maple syrup, and toffee. Flavor is really nicely smoky, not what I was expecting. Lots of smoky peaty malt up front fading to a slightly sweet malty finish. A little thin on the finish, but not overly. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, slightly sticky, with nice low soft carbonation. Overall, this was the winner of the bunch that I tasted that day, but maybe only by comparison? This actually had flavor at least. Still had an extract like quality to it, but better than the rest.

ABC 06. Pours a moslty clear deep amber with a thin off white head. Poured a bit cold, but as it warmed, a nice nutty caramel malt aroma came through- slgihtly estery with some dirty yeast in there. Flavor is more caramel and toasted malts, very light chocolate nuttiness. Not sure on the alcohol, but it seemd a bit weak. Not bad though.
