Fin (2348), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Oct 15, 2007 Cask conditioned at Oxford Beer Festival 12-10-07 Dark, dark brown in color, wonderful soft and impressive flavour of chocolate, fruit and yet five minutes into this I got a big bang of previously unnoticed citrusy hops, the bitterness lingered around the roof of my mouth and this really was a little belter.
greenmanalishi (213), Leicestershire, England Sep 28, 2008 Cask. Pours a typical ruby-black with a think white-cream head. Didn’t really deliver on the flavour as I’d hoped and expected; some chocolatey liquorice and the usual hints of coffee and roasted malts but fairly thin and nothing new here or particularly well balanced.
branding is nice though. Rune (1807), Tromsų, Norway Sep 2, 2008 Hand-pulled cask, served at the right drinking temperature at The North East England Bar, GBBF 08. Black-rusty, naked body. Sweet aroma of caramel malt. Coffee flavoured supported by sweet liquorice. Rich in taste, but easy to drink (half pint, shared with Geir, 09.08.2008). thebeertourist (1879), Oslo, Norway Aug 11, 2008 Cask at GBBF 08. Dark brown, tan head. Chocolate nose with a bit of roast. Chocolate, fruit and a tiny bit of coffee hit the tongue. Stands out in the mass. KimJohansen (4285), Copenhagen V, Denmark Aug 9, 2008 Dark brown with reddish glimts and no head. sweet aroma with roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Sweet flavor with caramel, roasted malt, bitter coffe and chocolate. Bitter finish. M0RHI (1026), Luxembourg, Luxembourg May 4, 2008 Cask at Glenrothes BF 08. Black to brown with a thin bubbly beige head. Nose is lively malty, sweet warming and some syrupy. Initial taste is baby powder, chalky, malt, some attacking bitterness. Espresso strength and more chalkiness in the palate. Little bit offensive, but on the whole, good.
