Cask, Loughborough Fest 07. Very dark brown with a small head. Aromas are earthy roast malts with light liquourice. Flavours are chocolate and light, sweet malts. Far too thin, lacks any depth. Dull but OK.

Feb 19, 2007 Cask conditioned gravity dispense at Merton Beer Festival 16-02-07. Poured a very dark brown in colour, bitter coffee mostly on the nose, taste wasn’t as choclatey as expected and whilst this was nice enough it really struggled when compared to it’s nearest competitor the Rother Valley Co co Hops. Reasonably full bodied and flavoursome but never really grabbed me.

Feb 18, 2007 Cask conditioned at Merton Beer Fest 07. Black with brown hue and tan head. A nicely balanced stout for me, plenty of coffee husk notes and a deep roasted element, but also some fruitiness in the malt. Full and dark, quite good.
