chris_o (4405), London, Greater London, England Nov 24, 2003 Is this really based on muesli? A light golden coloured bitter. And it is bitter. Quite flowery, no doubt due to the American hops, but I didn't detect much in the way of maltiness, or the claimed "full body". What I did find was a rather austere beer, that some might not find to their taste. I , however, like that style and I like this beer. Quite bitter and uncompromisingly dry on the palate and very dry on the finish. A good quaffing session beer. Not sure about the breakfast beer tag though. Handpump, The Bowling Green, Otley, September 2002. Don't miss this pub by the way.
harrisoni (5121), Ashford, Kent, England Jul 26, 2008 Cask gravity at Kent BF 08. Clear gold, thin white head. Drinkable enough slightly dry/earthy, some citrus sting on end. Juicy malt. Fine. DruncanVeasey (1612), Burbage, Leicestershire, England Apr 21, 2008 Cask, ’The Joy of Six’ Merchantfest ’08, Rugby. Thin, pale and haloed with white froth. Wishy-washy lemony/peachy/Fairy Liquid hop melting into buttery cornflake. Did I mention the soap? Can do better. Rune (1508), Tromsø, Norway Mar 19, 2008 Half on gravity at London Drinker BF 08. Missing head. Clear golden body colour. Slightly floral aroma. Citric fruits in flavour. Light bitter ending. Smooth and dry palate (12.03.2008). downender (1521), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Mar 13, 2008 On gravity at the London Drinker festival 12/3/08. Golden coloured with a slight white head. Aroma of grapefruit and sweet malt. Flavour of creamy sweet corn with a muted, citrus hop, dry finish. This was the least pleasant of the five golden ales sample at the festival - by a wide margin. Ethereal (880), London, Greater London, England Mar 2, 2008 Gravity cask at the Battersea Beer Festival, 7th Feb 2008. Pure gold, with a light, fluffy aroma of citrus and pineapple. The citrus theme continues in the flavour, with grapefruit coming through. The palate is soft and this is exceedingly drinkable stuff!
