Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular.
A pale, light ale. Brewed using extravagant amounts of North American hops to give it full flavours and lots of body that make it taste like a much stronger beer. The hops give it a flowery nose and hints of lychees in the flavours.
Matins came about as a consequence of deciding to "brew a beer from muesli," deeming it suitable for the sort of liquid breakfast that ought to find its way onto the set of Red Dwarf or Men Behaving Badly. The inventive grist has long since given way to pure Maris Otter pale malt.

Draught at Banbury Beer Festival. Pale Yellowy Gold with thinish had. Bags of flavour for a lower strength beer, an impressive array of fruit and tangy hops. An underlying hint of sweet cereal exsists. A great session beer.

Cask gravity at Kent BF 08. Clear gold, thin white head. Drinkable enough slightly dry/earthy, some citrus sting on end. Juicy malt. Fine.

Cask, ’The Joy of Six’ Merchantfest ’08, Rugby. Thin, pale and haloed with white froth. Wishy-washy lemony/peachy/Fairy Liquid hop melting into buttery cornflake. Did I mention the soap? Can do better.

Half on gravity at London Drinker BF 08. Missing head. Clear golden body colour. Slightly floral aroma. Citric fruits in flavour. Light bitter ending. Smooth and dry palate (12.03.2008).

On gravity at the London Drinker festival 12/3/08. Golden coloured with a slight white head. Aroma of grapefruit and sweet malt. Flavour of creamy sweet corn with a muted, citrus hop, dry finish. This was the least pleasant of the five golden ales sample at the festival - by a wide margin.

Gravity cask at the Battersea Beer Festival, 7th Feb 2008. Pure gold, with a light, fluffy aroma of citrus and pineapple. The citrus theme continues in the flavour, with grapefruit coming through. The palate is soft and this is exceedingly drinkable stuff!
