Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular.
Finest quality pale malt carrying choicest west coast American hops to create a beautifully balanced pale ale. The aroma is fragrant, fruity. The flavours are mellow with hints of bubblegum and refreshing grapefruit. The finish is bittersweet, without being cloying.
This is consistently Abbeydale Brewery's biggest selling beer.
First brewed in 1996 it was designed as a premium pale bitter to show drinkers of a very big and old-established brewery's offering just what a beer could taste like... After a bit of name-calling and throwing of stones, it had no trouble in establishing a reputation as the genuine Sheffield Gold Beer. It is now available as a "regular" beer at a number of outlets in and around Sheffield.

Cask at The Devonshire Cat, Sheffield, ’The Peoples Republic of South Yorkshire’ on the Valley of Beer Day 16-08-08 Poured straw coloured, with white head the appearance was quite immaculate, stunning clarity. This is an easy drinking session beer some boiled sweets along with some citrus, very nice beer.

The Raglan Arms, Rugby. Straw-coloured and nitro creamy. Subtly fruity aroma with grapefruit and floral hops. Soft milky apricot and lemony citrus in the mouth. Bit of a watery finish. Certainly not the hop bite I was expecting, but a pleasantly mellow GA.

On tap in Hull, UK. Pours with very little head, taste is very fruity, strong apricots and citrus. Kind of average, not as good as some other yorkshire ales.

Cask, Duck and Drake, Leeds. Pale amber colour, floral aroma. Lovely grapefruit/lemon flavour with a dry bitter finish. Really enjoyed this one. Recommended.
