Sampled as part of a trio of festival thirds, but not officially listed as a festival beer. Good to see them dishing up something obscure and local alongside the nationally available stuff. Caramelised sugar aroma. Tawny red with a swirl of a head. Cherry boiled sweet and candy floss-driven in the local style. Cherryish, buttery and flimsy, but I (quite) like it. Varnish splashes. Marginally better than (and not dissimilar to) the John Smith’s Heritage. imdownthepub (5187), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England
