Clear dark brown color with a average, creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, milk chocolate, smoked meat notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat to soft. [20090120]

Jan 21, 2009 Cask conditioned at The Wellington, Birmingham 21/1/09. Deep chestnut brown with a decent tan head that left plenty of lacing. Sweet all round, with some milk chocolate, hints of cherry and a short, bitter finish. Easy drinking if not hugely memorable.

Dec 21, 2008 Cask conditioned at The Wellington, Birmingham; Dark brown with tan head. probably brewed at Toll End but the beer is definitely being moved to the new brewery, so best it sits here. Rich fruity mild, surprisingly sweet in the finish, nutty and woody, really quite enjoyable if not totally in character.
