6th July 2008. Mid brown clear beer. Thin and watery with a little malt and some apologetic hop. Very dry malty finish. Barely drinkable!

Bottle. Dark brown with large lively beige head. Usual dubbel character but with a little balsamic vinegar sweetness. Not bad, drinkable but not tummy banana inducing for the style.

Bottle, 8%. Mild fruity aroma, hint of tobacco and sweetness. Clear dark brown colour. Small frothy unstable tan head. The flavour is fruity, nutty and sweet. Tastes OK, but is much too weak for the ABV.

Bottle. Dark brown bit hazy body with a big bubbly off white head. Very malty aroma with some begian spice and ripe sweet fruit like prune and dark cherry. Light malty bit plastic like flavour with some spices. Notes of tobacco and ripe fruit. Medium bodied.

Yellowy beige collar on deep ruby. Clinging lace until the last. Nose wafting enticingly with sticky malt loaf bock notes, tobacco, milk chocolate, prune, overripe mouldering apple, black cherry, hazelnut and locust bean (?), mouth moving through fig and demerara, toasty dark malts, puff of smoke, slight cardboard graininess, distant cigar, liquorice, ending up bittersweet but mostly sweet with a nutty praline linger. Crumb of marzipan. Quite fat and slightly viscous. Just a trace of something chocolate or coffee substitute-like I’m not sure about. Chiccory or liquorice? Desiccated papery old tobacco and malt peatiness. Lactic traces with slight babysick and locust bean notes on the nose now, and resiny evergreen. Alcohol not there. On balance, I like it and its technically good, but lacking a spark of Belgian magic (yeast?). Theres better Dubbels out there...

Bottle. Dark brown color. Pineapple in the aroma. Very sweet flavor with pineapple and a hint of caramel. Simple, just a bit alcoholic beer.
