BBB63 (3810), La Porte, Indiana, USA Apr 27, 2004 Also known as Big Bear Spiced Ale: A clear ruby brown hue with a small head and very good lace. The aroma hints of coriander, nutmeg, cinnamon and juniper berries with additional nose of toasted and caramel malts, floral hops and grapefruit, and earthy yeast esters. The taste has a nice citric and spicy tone, which grows as the beer warms up. Crisp and tingles on the lips. Undertones of caramel, vanilla, and earthiness. This medium-bodied brew has a sharp, crisp, and warming feel. Very balanced and very nice. The spices were NOT overdone in this beer, the best I have had at Aberdeen. At brewery only.
jaymobrown (1300), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 9, 2004 Darkish reddish beer. Cinnamon, corriander, vanilla, some tart cherry flavors hidden in the end. Nice balance between the more vegetable and spice front, and the cherry/raspberry finish. I was told that it really didn't come out as planned, but I thought it was fine, and good to drink.
