pivo (2488), Germany Jul 11, 2007 Light nose, hazy body, foamy head. Honey notes and a lightly yeasty malt, rough around the edges. Light and refreshing overall.
RichardGretton (2680), Leicestershire, England Jun 19, 2008 Bottle. Golden/blonde beer with a light head. The aroma is weakly malty and bitter, the flavour is dampened fruitiness with a lightly dry finish. Overall an average malty and mildly spiced beer. General_Gao (2573), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Nov 18, 2007 12 oz bottle purchased at La Cave à Bulles in Paris. This is my first beer brewed with seaweed. Poured a clear golden color. Head was white and dissipated quickly. There was some tattered lace on the glass at the end. Smelled of noble hops and subdued cereal grain. Very pilsner-ish. Dry on the tongue with effervescence on the big bubbly end of the spectrum. Thin mouth feel. The flavor was similar to the aroma in that it was also very pilsner-ish. However there was also a certain je ne se quois in this French beer that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. I can only assume it came from the seaweed. It was subtle and didn’t resemble seaweed to the extent that I would have been able to identify it blindly. I was hoping for a more dominant seaweed flavor, but this beer was interesting nonetheless. Hildigöltur (5056), København Ø, Denmark May 8, 2007 Bottled. Hazy golden coloured. Light yeasty aroma. Very little flavour. Very little trace of the algues. Thin. Very light and bland. bluevegie (1769), Perth, Australia Sep 24, 2006 France May 06. Yellow gold body with average head. Tastes a little yeasty, quite pleasant but simple. Still I enjoyed this.
