| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 15, 2006 Best Abita beer I’ve ever had, period. Medium gold, slight chill haze, nice white head that lasted well. Aroma lightly floral with a distinct pineapple note, quite hoppy. Slightly gummy pale malts are balanced nicely by a drying bitter floral finish, with the pineapple coming through at the end to remind you that this is an American brew take on the style. Really good stuff. unclemattie (2434), Georgia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 12/20 | Oct 11, 2006 Had this beer with brutalbitter at WildWingCafe in Marietta(eastlake). Golden in color. Thin white head. Aroma of dirty panties. Citrusy hoppiness. not much malt to it. Probably the best Abita I’ve found so far. KAggie97 (2477), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 8, 2006 Bottle from KAggie97. You rock, dude! Pours a richer-than-normal-yellow for a pilsner. Small head, but intricate lacing on the edge of the glass. Aroma is grassy hops. Flavor is floral, with notes of grass and peach. Mouthfeel is decent. Not bad. Bockyhorsey (2552), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 8, 2006 Bottle. Aroma was malty sweet. Clear gold body with white head. The malt presence held back the bitterness with a decent zesty flavor. A good refreshment. What came to mind with this one could drink a sixer of this while playing cards instead of keystone light. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Oct 7, 2006 Beer pours lightly cloudy golden color with a totally retained egg white head and nice lacing. Aroma is quite spicy, hoppy with a floral note as well as a bit of bready malt. Flavor is dead on for a quality pilsener. Very spicy, hoppy with a nice malty balance. Palate is crisp and refreshing. This is good beer and phenomenal for a pils. illinismitty (1800), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 3, 2006 Bottle. Pours a translucent golden with a white head. Very nice aroma of sweet dough, pale malts, and floral hops. Mouthfeel is a bit fizzy. Biscuity maltiness in the flavor that transitions to a spicy, mildly bitter finish, with some dryness. Pretty nice beer and very drinkable. Probably one of the best crafted Abita’s that I have had. I’d say replace the golden lager with this. TheBeerLover (1019), DC Metro Area, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Oct 2, 2006 12 oz bottle sample. Many beer lovers have been critical of this beer, but I am of the opinion that this is a good choice as an Anniversary beer, and is a very well done example of pilsner. Stylistically, this beer is a very accurate example of the style, with a good balance of malt and hop character. This beer pours to a beautiful, bright, golden color, with a bright white head, and a good carbonation. The nose on this beer is very inviting, with good herbal/grassy hop aroma, paired with some crisp pale malt aroma. The body is crisp, and clean, with good pale malt flavor, on a smooth and round body. This beer finishes with more crisp malt flavor up front, then ends, with a mild, grassy, hop bite that balances. Excellent pilsner, that is very drinkable, and very food friendly. Would love to see this one become a regular in the Abita line up.
