Bottle: Aroma of malts, toffee, dark ripe fruits, yeast, light plastic, sugar, brown sugar, and something gross that I cannot put my finger on. Tastes of malts, dark ripe fruits, brown sugar, toffee, light wood, yeast, plums, grapes, caramel, and jelly. Cloying sweetness. Medium body. Smooth texture. Average carbonation. Sweet, cloying, dark ripe fruit body. 8%ABV is well hidden. nickd717 (1346), Palo Alto, California, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 24, 2009 650 ml bottle. Pours a cherry brown with a creamy, light tan head. Boozy fruit, yeast, raisin, mineral notes, and a little vegtativeness on the nose. Medium carbonation with a medium mouthfeel. The alcohol is pretty prominent in this one. Fruity on the palate, with apricot playing the dominant role. Slight bitterness, spice, and a taste I can’t quite place. A touch of mineral and earth? Medium-long finish with the fruit flavor lingering. USCBeerMan (108), Columbia, South Carolina, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 16, 2009 Amber pour with a half-inch off-white head. Malty nose with a dash of fruit. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 13, 2009 Bomber from Hi-Time. Pours a brownish amber with a decent off-white head providing okay lacing. Aromas of dark fruity esters, some spice and candy/bubblegum typical for the style. Flavor follows suit, dark fruit (raisin), slight clovey spice with the brown sugar finish. Mouthfeel was fairly heavy, but seemed a bit lighter for the style. Overall this is a pretty good dubbel, and for the price, is worth picking up.
