I saw a six-pack at binny’s and decided to pick it up. Yup, just as I thought, they were stupid. I mean, yeah, it’s a step above the macros, but not really. Just a boring, bland beer. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 15, 2008 Pours clear amber with an off-white quickly dissipating head. The aroma has caramel malt, vanilla and traces of hops. Medium / thin tinny body with semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with the typical bland amber ale style malt and light mustiness. Flavor was grain, caramel, and just a bit of hops. Finishes really clean, refreshing. An easy beer to session. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA

Nose is sweet and a bit earthy and doughy. Hops balance with a soft herbal and spicy quality. The bitterness was a bit strong for the malts in my opinion, I thought the malts were decent and should have been more the center of the beer, but the hops seemed to wash them away and leave it kinda bland. | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | May 21, 2008 I’m in New Orleans and I had just had a delightful dinner at an outdoor table at a fine bistro. I had hoped that a local beer, with some local gumbo and smoked kurobuta pork bellies would do the trick. Dinner was great but we switched to wine pretty quickly. No account nose. Minimal flavor ... minimal amount of sweet malts and hop bitterness. Thin in the mouth. If it were hotter, and if the food were less interesting, I could have made an excuse for a second beer.
