Listing Abita Amber as a Vienna makes more sense of this beer to me. German style beer with bready, musty flavors. If Abita is targeting Southern craft beer drinkers they may have something here. Light enough to drink in warm weather and enough flavor to satisfy a beer geek.

draft. Nothing really stood out on this, meaning this wasn’t great...but it was pretty well balanced.

This was pretty bad. I don’t know if I got a bad batch [I put it in the refrigerator for only about 1/2 hour after getting it back from the distributor] or what, but on the whole I’d rather be in Philadelphia drinking Utica Club.

Bottle with gputty. Clear orange with a thin white head. Nose is very mild caramel, a touch of herbal hop. Bland flavors of caramel and small spicy hop. Meh.

From bottle. Pours a hazy amber with foamy off white head. Nose is light caramel malt with an underlying funkiness. Flavor is more of the same, a little hop spiciness, and a clean finish.

(Bottle) Pours amber with a small, short-lived head. Malty with some hoppy notes in the aftertaste. Decent brew, but overall a pretty run-of-the-mill amber ale.

Bottle. Pours amber with a small white head. Nose is malty and slightly hoppy with some caramel notes and light spice notes. Taste is also caramel with sweet malts and soft fruit notes. Light spicy hop notes as well. Body is light and crisp. Finishes with more caramel, sweet malts, soft fruit and light spicy hops.

Strange brew. Pours amber with white head. The aroma was very earthy and barnyard. The flavor was sweet and caramelly. Not much hop character to speak of. Not a lot going on. Too sweet for my taste.
