Average American amber lager. Tried it on draft in New Orleans. Flavors are typical and smooth for this style.

Oct 7, 2008 12 oz bottle, widely available around SE. Pours an amber colour (big surprise) with ample airy crown that has minimal retention and spotty lacing. Aroma is full of sweet malt and lager yeast, which was a huge turn-off. Flavour is pretty uncharacteristic, semi-sweet caramel, malt, some hop bitterness to provide balance, and yeast. Though the beer is not bottle-conditioned and yeast is not in the bottle, there is a pretty good wallop of yeast taste in the beer, from start to finish. It is moderately carbonated with a slightly crisp finish and a light body on the tongue but not a great taste on the finish. A decent drinker, which I’ll pick any day over a macrobrew, but nothing that I’ll even consider picking up out of the cooler unless it’s the only choice left.

Oct 1, 2008 Tap at Epcot for Food and Wine Fest. Pours a really nice looking reddish gold. Nice head and good retention. Nose is a bit of caramel malt, some light roast and lager yeast (which I hate). This reminds me of alot of Oktoberfest as its fairly malt forward on the flavor. There is some nice bittering hops on the back end and bit of lingering caramel but this is no way an amber ale. Its definitely a lager and the yeast is unmistakable. For what it is, its quite good.

Sep 22, 2008 pours a medium amber colour with a thin head. Aroma is earthy wet hay yeasty smell.
Flavour is pretty light. Toasty malt, some caramel and a very light grassy hop.

Sep 13, 2008 I rather enjoy this beer...don’t know why. Bottle. Poured a clear amber with a small tan head. Aroma of malt and caramel. Flavor was caramel. Light bodied.

Sep 8, 2008 12oz bottle from kramer, thanks Jason. No date--they didn’t notch anything. Clear amber orange with a 1 1/2 finger beige head, that faded to a sparse film and thick ring after a couple minutes. Aroma of stale toasted grain and a tinge of caramel sweetness. Flavor has some wet paper and corn notes that are more dominant than the aforementioned grain in the aroma. Not really picking up on any caramel anymore, and the finish has bitterness peaking around a one, two if you’re lucky. Light body with low prickly carbonation. Another Abita that does nothing for me.
