| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 2, 2006 Bottle from Jungle Jim’s. Poured dark amber with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate malty tart fruit aroma. Medium body. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 28, 2006 This bock pours a medium brown color with almost no foam. Nor is there any carbonation visible. The aroma is not very pleasant. It has hints of a stagnant fish pond. Flavor is much better than the aroma. There is a nice mix of malt and hop as well as sweet and bitter. It also offers a nice tartness. Despite the aroma I liked this beer. luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Apr 25, 2006 Beer pours a clear medium orange-gold color with a small, off-white, mostly and quickly diminishing head. The aroma isn’t very nice: malty with moderate notes of husky toasted grain, light notes of caramel; yeasty with a trace of dough; moderate-to-heavy miscellaneous notes of cooked corn/DMS, diacetyl, higher alcohols (smells like a bad mead) and a trace note of honey. The flavor is lightly sweet, moderately bitter with a long, unclean, warm, lightly bittersweet finish. The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively. | 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Apr 25, 2006 Bottle.
Head is initially small, off-white, mostly diminishing.
Body is clear light amber.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (grain, husks), with notes of DMS and chemicals.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter, husky, unclean.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Extremely poor. Blindly I would call this an American Dark, not a bock. It’s just swill lager with some color in its cheeks. Undrinkable. ratman197 (3191), Arvada, Colorado, USA
