thegreenrooster (1811), St.louis, Missouri, USA Jun 2, 2005 Pour is a nice orange with a white head. Aroma is faint hops and malts. Flavor is almost to faint to even get a good rating. Theres malts in there but they do not even stand out. The beer looks great but is blah after that. wxman (582), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA May 27, 2005 Mild malty aroma, golden amber color, moderate head with some lacing. Malty sweet flavor with some hops. Not overly flavorful but quite refreshing, but not really a Maibock IMO - - more like Vienna lager. Palate is clean. Good thirst quencher w/o much alcohol warmth in spite of 6+ ABV. Braudog (3733), Dayton, Ohio, USA May 19, 2005 Gorgeous glass ... bronze and bubbly with a big poofy pillow of a head. Sugar-alcohol aroma ... the flavors are initially disappointingly faint ... but the more you go, the more it settles ... very light caramel malt, a hint of the alcohol, and an overall well-balanced brew. I’d say it’s a pretty decent blonde bock. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA Apr 27, 2005 Dark straw pour fluffy white head that laces the edges of the glass. Aroma is sweet malts with caramel overtones. Not really a whole lot of aroma. Caramel flavor and not much else going on with this one a little sweet on the finish. Very carbonated for a bock I thought. It is drinkable but just nothing great.. Darkover (1308), Columbus, Ohio, USA Apr 7, 2005 Yellow with a big white head. Aroma and flavor are a little sweet and malty. But seem pretty similar to BMC DYCSoccer17 (2187), Davis, California, USA Mar 20, 2005 Tap. Mild caramel malted nose. Very mild aroma. Transparent copper color with vitrually no head. Caramelly, buttered popcorn notes turning roasted and cereal-like---cheerios. Yup, lots of cheerios in this to finish. Kinda bland. Blegh. KAggie97 (2406), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Mar 18, 2005 At least it’s better than Shiner’s offering... slightly weak malt masks a weak caramel sort of flavor. Interesting, but only as interesting as Pauly Shore was. Crash (447), Macomb, Illinois, USA Mar 14, 2005 Let’s start with the fact that this wasn’t a bock. Didn’t smell, look, or taste like one so I don’t know what they were thinking. Poured golden with next to no head. Aroma was one of those strange things you don’t want to smell before drinking. Tasted a lot like a almost pale ale.
