I tought for a second the rep was pouring me the wrong beer. Pale gold with a small head. Straw aroma - and that’s about it. Fruity esters in the flavor initially, with lots of grains (wheat), hay, and some ginger. WAY too carbonated, nearly burningly so. Ick. n0kwa (34), Talisheek, Louisiana, USA

Pours a dark orange with little to no head - what is there is snow white. Aroma is pretty much non-dememo - pick up some fresh lake water accents, a faint whisp of caramel. Flavor has some of those same malty caramel notes with a bit of cotton candy sweetness. Mouthfeel is thick and slightly syrupy - highlight of this one. A very decent bock- especially from the south. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 22, 2005 On tap. Oaky dark gold, clingy head. Light, pruney-floral aroma. Well-hopped with traditional lager hops, biscuity, not sweet, ABV noticable. Finishes with a long grainy bitterness and moderate astringency. Medium body, finish goes yeasty. A good beer with food, especially on a nippy winter day in Dixie. Spectacular with the gyros at the brewpub. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Dec 31, 2004 Thanks to Walt for this one. Bright yellow with a white head. Had a lemony pinesol aroma. Some hints to citrus flavor try to escape into my mouth, but do not do a good job. Decent malt character. The finish has the most flavor of the whole thing. Pretty light beer. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 19, 2004 Yellow body, lots of billowing head. Sweet corn and lemon aroma, hints of bubblegum. Some nice flavor hints, leaning toward a hefeweizen (?!), some faint spicy notes even. LIghtly fruity finish. Yet, all told, mild in flavor. Moderately frothy palate. Sessionable, drinkable, even vaguely likable, but they call this a bock? Oh well.
