Jul 14, 2008 Poured a nice amber color with a couple of fingers of head. Not much lacing though as the head dropped. Slightly cloudy. Nice malt smell and taste. Just a slight hops bitterness in aftertaste. Easy to drink and I would not have guessed the ABV at over 6, although the alcohol came out just a bit on the final drink after it warmed.

Apr 14, 2008 Pours copper with a thin white head. Smells of biscuits, sweet malt. Tastes of sweet malt, roses, some hints of pepper and a decent earthy finish.

Apr 2, 2008 Amber/brown color with a light tan head. Malty is the operative word on this one. Malt is the prominent note on the nose as well as in the taste. Also, hoppy, slightly bitter, just a little bit of biscuit/bread taste and a little alcohol ring on the finish. If you’re familiar with Shiner Bock, this one is quite similar. Abita gets my nod as the better of the two, by a slight margin.

Mar 30, 2008 Sample Tasting - Amber color with white head. Sweet malt aroma with notes of grain, nuts, caramel. Flavors rich malted grain, brown sugar, biscuit dough, caramel. Slight hops finish, but it’s more malty than anything.

Mar 2, 2008 Pale amber appearance with a small, off white head and sparce lacing. Caramel malt aroma with a touch of sour fruit. Sweet, malty taste followed by some harsh alcohol notes; low keyed hop presence. Medium bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel. Dry, acidic finish.
