Aroma was malty with hints of caramel and toffee. Flavor was very much the same with some hop bitterness coming through to balance the flavor. Very little lacing, good mouthfeel and carbonation. Good beer. Poobah (102), New Orleans, Louisiana, USA

Malty, sweet intro with mild carbonation and light, smooth palate. Sweet lasting finish with moderate yet persistent bitterness and some floral notes. Just in time for the greatest free show on earth! Crafty07 (392), Florence, Kentucky, USA

| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jan 16, 2008 Off aroma. Strong taste and orangish color. Some creamy carbonation. A little too strong for my liking. Seems to be much higher than the 6% listed here. leaves a lingering malty alky bitterness on the finish that does not go away soon and makes it difficult to enjoy. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 5, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours light gold with a very small white head. Nice malty spicy nose. Taste is malty, caramel, spicy, with a small hop profile. Thin body. Not a "full" beer in taste though-it leaves you wishing for more.Very Octoberish. Almost a session bock-which is not what I want in my bock. Not Abita’s best effort. I’ve got 5 more if anyone wants one-I’ll trade this and the Jockamo for any regional/mainstream beer. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 31, 2007 One of the 12-oz bottles sampled from the Abita Party Pack, acquired from Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, MN. Pours a clear light amber brew with a thin and fast dissolving off-white head that dissipates to a fine white ring and no lacing. Aroma of light caramel malt and some grassy hops. Taste is light to medium bodied, well-carbonated with some caramel malt and citrus zest. Finish is watery, with a semi-sweet caramel malt aftertaste. One of the lightest bock beers I have tried. vadavid (131), Fredericksburg, Virginia, USA

Thick head on the pour that quickly dissipated. The smell is weak with a faint toffee smell. The flavor isn’t bad, but nothing exceptional. A sweet malt flavor up front with faint hop bite at the end. Not a bad bock, just nothing outstanding about it.
