| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 21, 2006 From a twist cap stubby brown bottle with a notched best before date along the left side of back label.
Poured a hazy copper hued orange with a foamy off-white head that settled into a thin lacing.
Aromas of faint grape fruity esters and bready malts.
Moderate carbonation and a softly crisp, smooth medium bodied mouthfeel.
Very malty tasting, toasted caramel and bready malts with a touch of sugariness, fruity esters, a light, soft spicy hop bitterness, a slight warming alcohol presence towards the end and a dryish sweet malty finish, a nice smooth drinkability.
A decent bock, mildly tasty and quite quaffable.

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 28, 2006 This bock pours a medium brown color with almost no foam. Nor is there any carbonation visible. The aroma is not very pleasant. It has hints of a stagnant fish pond. Flavor is much better than the aroma. There is a nice mix of malt and hop as well as sweet and bitter. It also offers a nice tartness. Despite the aroma I liked this beer. shadey (1501), Rochester, New York, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Oct 17, 2004 Clear orange pour with a soapy head that starts off big, but settles down to a thin layer. Sweet aroma. A little bit of the hay mentioned by some other raters. I was expecting something with a bit more full bodied. This was a bit watery. It doesn’t taste bad, but its not good either. This would be a good replacement for those who just want a bunch of beers they can slam back. Not filling at all, light bodied and refreshing. LaChad (1375), San Francisco, California, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 15, 2004 Bottle. Hmm, how did I miss this one this whole time? Extremely light for a bock, I was thinking exactly the same thing that the most recent rater thought: that it looks more like a pilsener. The taste is decidedly non-bockish, but as it stands, it would be a decent sports watching beer and I’ll rate it as such. A little effervescent and otherwise, it’s pretty much an amber ale with some chocolate thrown in. jaymobrown (1360), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 1/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Jul 14, 2004 Dull sugar nose. Clear yellow pilsner looking. Lemon flavors with a dry, straw finish. A bock? No, no, no. Complete failure. fly (1333), austin, Tejas, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 7, 2004 Might be my favorite of their line, which really isn’t saying much. I have great reservations as I’ve had good and bad samples. A beer can be infectious or infected. Beware of he latter. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 8, 2006 Now called Mardi Gras Bock. Musty malty caramel aroma with some mango and earth. Sweet and malty in flavor with hints of smoke. Strange, nutty, cheap bourbon like finish.
