| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 24, 2009 Pours rich amber with very little head and what was there is gone in 30 seconds. Caramel and sweet fruit such as peach, plum and apple is the aroma along with some roast malt. Taste is toasty, malty and pretty sweet but not sticky. The body is pretty good, but overall it’s decent. djd07 (755), Houston, Texas, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 18, 2009 Bottle. Pours a clear copper golden with a small frothy off white head that diminshes quickly. Decent spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma is a toasted malt with raisin and wheat grass. The taste is a sweet malt with yeast and raisin. A decent heller bock from Abita. Narnad (726), Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 21, 2009 Pours a clear golden-orange color with a thin, frothy head and high carbonation. Aroma is of noble hops, caramel malt and some slight malt sweetness at the very end of the sniff. Flavor has some noble hopsat the start, slightly skunky taste, but then quickly moves into the British pale malt with its distinct toasted flavor, followed up by the light sweet caramel malt. Beer has a light feeling to it but does carry a smooth, light flavor. Overall the beer is an okay example of this style but nothing extraordinary nor something I would buy on a consistent basis. | 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Sep 3, 2004 Aroma is almost non-existent. Pours a lightish cloudy caramel color. Can definitely taste the hops and some fruit that I can’t put my finger on. Whatever it is, I don’t care for it. Glad this was a freebie. I’ve drank half; don’t think I can get the other half down. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 6, 2009 12 oz. bottle labeled as Mardi Gras Bock. Pale copper color with the smallest of white heads. I had a little trouble picking up the nose on this one. What I could find included malt and some banana notes. Light on the tongue with decent carbonation. Definite banana and bread notes on the palate. Some malt, fruit, and grain come through as well. A very mild hop bitterness at the end. It finished very clean but just a little quite for my tastes. Not bad, but there are better versions of this style. jmuhops (663), Winchester, Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 8, 2006 Pours amber with a small head. Fairly standard malty Bock aroma. Simple flavor, with malt and not much else. Good, but nothing special. AskForJenny (659), Ontario, New York, USA
