It was a sure sign of spring, Carnival and crawfish. Classic bock flavors and colors - malt, alcohol, some hops, glowing red color. Beerdedone (1885), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA

Date: 4/25/2007
Event: Junedale Beer Klub - April Beer Tasting (Maibocks)
Serving: 12 oz bottles shared by __?__.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: Light malts with some vanilla and cream.
Appearance: Clear amber/brown color with a diminishing off-white head. Mild level of carbonation and some lacing is also present.
Flavor: Grainy malts, vanilla/cream, slightly buttery as well.
Palate: Soft, mellow, smooth, and clean.
Overall: Many Abita brews seem to have a similar "grainy" quality to them as well. This beer is drinkable, but seems to be lacking somewhat. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 2, 2008 Pours a very darker amber brown. No head. Nose is crisp and airy. And apples. Flavor is very sugary sweet; too much so in my opinion. On the end an out of place metallic tone. Bordering on burnt caramel is there too. Feel is extremely sticky and thick on the liquid and very low on the carbonation. I have to say that overall you can drink this one, but I don’t really see any good reason to. Leaning way too far to one side, it doesn’t deliver a balanced and worthy experience. Crafty07 (393), Florence, Kentucky, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 24, 2008 decent but unremarkable maibock from the Louisiana brewery, this ’mardis gras’ offering has a more interesting label than the adaquate liquid found within. djd07 (750), Houston, Texas, USA

Pours a clear copper golden with a small frothy off white head that diminshes quickly. Decent spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma is a toasted malt with raisin and wheat grass. The taste is a sweet malt with yeast and raisin. A decent heller bock from Abita. BMan1113VR (2904), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA
