| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 14, 2002 Haven’t had too many bocks, but if this is a good representation of them, I love them!
Rating this beer is quite difficult because it is so increadibly difficult to describe. Forgive me for this poor description, but I describe it as ’tasting like mardi gras.’ Not for the simple fact that Abita markets this beer during mardi gras season, but for some specific qualities in the beer.
It’s a mixture of various bitter and sweet flavors, NONE of which I can put my finger on. Despite this virtual gumbo of a beer, it is suprisingly smooth.
Only problem with the beer is that I get very full and tired of it after a couple of them.
This column might not be the most specific of review, but for this elusive beer, its the best I can do. Best thing to do is give it a taste when mardi gras rolls round. I do recomend it if you like Shiner Bock by the way. Braudog (3773), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | May 19, 2005 Gorgeous glass ... bronze and bubbly with a big poofy pillow of a head. Sugar-alcohol aroma ... the flavors are initially disappointingly faint ... but the more you go, the more it settles ... very light caramel malt, a hint of the alcohol, and an overall well-balanced brew. I’d say it’s a pretty decent blonde bock. legion242 (1586), Richardson, Texas, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Mar 20, 2002 I liked this better than Shiner Bock. It had a average sized head that died quickly. It smelled of caramel without any skunkiness like Shiner. It went down smooth with little aftertaste. Easy to drink bock. pojo41 (315), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 30, 2007 Draft at Abita Brew Pub. Nice dark brown color. Malty smell and taste. Decent head. Can’t really give it’s outstanding characteristics but, just a very good tasting bock.
