Well-hopped with traditional lager hops, biscuity, not sweet, ABV noticable. Finishes with a long grainy bitterness and moderate astringency. Medium body, finish goes yeasty. A good beer with food, especially on a nippy winter day in Dixie. Spectacular with the gyros at the brewpub. DuffManOhYeah (124), USA

watery. Not quite as crisp as I expected.

The only drawback is that tis beer is a little sweeter than I would like. Who cares it is Madi Gras time!!! blutt59 (2110), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 8, 2009 Hazy, honey-colored orange. Short-lived head. Color changes to a dark yellow as it thins out. The color looks awfully attractive.
Some nice flowery pale malts in the aroma. Mild German (Hallertau?) hops. A couple citrusy notes but not sure if it’s the hops.
Really nice combo of the dry, flaky pale malts and sweetish puckery citrus. Actually a fine combo; the hops add a sweetness and a tart finish.
The feel is creamy and a tad bubbly. Thicker than expected, but certainly not a choker. It’s a substantial drink with lots of summery, tree-fruit notes. Very very nice. ruggedman (619), Portland, Maine, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 22, 2007 On tap at the Hard Rock in the big easy. This was a much better beer than the amber I tried, but that’s not really saying too much. Still the stark contrast between the two made for a better tasting of this beer than normal i’d say. The caramel malts balance great with the subtle german style hops. I haven’t had much from this style but I think this sort of beer is my favorite german so far. Go to New Orleans during Mardi Gras and get this beer! :) Like the guy below me said, Let the good times roll! JPDIPSO (4906), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 10, 2003 Golden color with a decent two fingers of cream colored head. Deep sweet malt, near treacle, hint of floral/minty hops. Initial bit of corn, but after that has diminished, light sweet malt balanced with a faint hops kiss. A mild maibock, but very drinkable.
