Amber color with decent head and great lacing.
Smells of pecans and malt. Taste is burning malt and very earthy - almost dirt-like.
Palate is okay - nothing too great. Overall, not very good or enjoyable - just bland and ho hum.

Jan 25, 2008 Typical amber ale aroma, with something spicey besides, perhaps a bit of vanilla. Reddish copper color with a white head that rose and fell. Medium to full in body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is caramel, nutty, clove?, definitely spice things. The finish is fairly dry, and there is enough spice to balance any residual sweets. Not a lot of hop bitter. Decent drink, but not a typical highly flavored winter beast.

Jan 21, 2008 Pours a transluscent maroonish copper color with an offwhite, lasting foamy head. Smell is spiced and hopped, and perhaps a bit toasty or nutty. Not a bad aroma, actually. Taste is a bit mild, but balanced between toasty bittersweet malt, hops and perhaps a spiced or nutty flavor, but maybe I’m projecting that. I definitely prefer this to their standard year round beers that I’ve tried. Pretty decent, very drinkable and far better than the percentage indicates I thought.

Jan 17, 2008 Updated: Jan 28, 2008sweet carmel and maybe molasses in the aroma. some spice, maybe a little choclate. a lot going on in the palate. too much. beer seems overly complicated, and i couldnt get a real feel for the flavor. alcohol didnt seem to be hidden at all, which brought it down for me. much like pecan harvest, i thought this was average, not necessarily bad.

Jan 15, 2008 Pours bright amber with a fluffy tan head. Aroma of toffee, cinnamon, caramel, bready malt. Tastes of sweet toffee and caramel infused with xmas spices: cinnamon, nutmeg, Mouthfeel is medium bodied, sticky with lush carbonation.

Jan 9, 2008 12 oz. 2004 bottling pours a clear amber hue with an off white head. Nice malty, yeasty sweet bread smell. Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Has a tasty sweet malt and grain flavor, mildly hopped .Finishes slightly bitter. A very smooth, easy drinking brew.Dec 2004

Jan 8, 2008 Clear copper amber, modest white head with poor retention. Caramel aroma. Caramel flavour, a little nutty, a little hoppy (earthy leaves). I brought a couple of these back with me to have during the holidays. Where’s the Christmas in this?
