This is a fairly respectable Christmas brew, although it missed the typical Abita "spring water" taste. This is one of the lighter Christmas beers you will drink and it pretty refreshing.

Caramel seems to be the theme of this beer. Caramel colored pour with light notes of caramel in the nose and layers of sweet caramel malts in the body. Pretty one dimensional - but quite drinkable. A nice refresher but not much more.

12 oz bottle Pours a clear dark amber with an off white creamy head. Lacing is decent. Has a malty aroma of carmel and molasses. A medium bodied ale with good carbonation. Not much aftertaste, still a refreshing beer.

2005. Pours thin copper color with quarter inch head. Aroma is weak, but has hint of clove. Taste is also rather weak with a bitter aftertaste. High carbonation. A seasonal brew should highlight seasonal tastes. This one does not.

really llight bodied but it did have some nice flavor notes to it. A sweet maltiness a subtle hop balance a really smooth finish made this a half way decent chirstmas ale. It would be a good starter chirstmas ale for people whom never had one before.

The present for 2005... Abita had some leftover Octoberfest to bottle. The destinct marzen maltyness was there and the beer was balanced and crafted as Abita knows how to do but is was not good.

looks good, tastes bland. Not that disappointing considering I haven’t loved much from Abita... Beer of the Month.

2005 version. This ale pours a deep cooper color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is mild, slightly sweet with some spices. A light to medium bodied ale. Malts are caramel and not very sweet. As a result the first sip yields a whole bunch of nutmeg and cinnamon with no malt sweet to balance them out., which tends to make the first rather unpleasant. Then its sort of thin and watery and the carbonation is weak. Needless to say it does not make a good combination. No wonder they pushed this one off on the Beer of the Month clubs all over the country. Maybe I can use the other two bottles I got for cooking. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and sharp. Aftertaste is bitter. No good pass on this one.
