Bottle on 12/10/2008 at the James River Homebrew Club December Meeting in a blind tasting. Clear light amber body with a small frothy tan head. Sweet malty aroma with some caramel and floral earthy hops. Earthy caramel flavor with light floral hops. Medium light body with moderate carbonation.

This pours a dark to medium brown with an off white head. Aroma was roasted malts and small spices. Flavor was also a little spices and plain sweet roasted malts, nothing great here, but nothing bad.

Bottle given to me by Boudreaux. Dark amber color with creamy white head. Notes of malty grain, caramel, fruit, slight hops. Citrus and sour biscuit dough flavors, combined with a bitter hops aftertaste. Spice and light fruit round it out. Not as watery to me, as others have suggested. Not a powerful winter brew, but not drain pour by any means. Decent.

Bottle from Kegs & Barrels in McKinney, TX. Pours a almost hazy amber with beige head. Has a nice little aroma of earth and caramel. Flavor is ok, some caramel, obvious hop flavor with some bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium but still feels slightly watery, high carbonation. Overall, decent beer, but the type of hop bitterness in this brew kinda gave it a nasty aftertaste.

Tap at Standing Bar. Deep amber beer with a thin white head. Aroma is a little bit buttery with a soft malty character. A little bit fruity and a little bit spicy. A light earthy character as well. It’s kind of an indistinct brew, but it’s decent enough.

12 oz bottle. Pours a amber, clear body. Aroma is hop. Taste is hoppy bitterness. Not a huge fan of ambers in general.

Draft at the brewpub. Light, IPA like, hoppiness in the nose. Taste is bitter, with a nice amount of malt. Not a whole lot of spice. Not bad, but nothing extrordinary.
