Amber nice white head. Aroma is spicey, carboard, alcohol, dog hair, old orange juice. Taste is lightly malty, caramel, light spice, blah. Aroma was terrible, bad, horrible- taste was very bland.

In the bottle from HyVee Ames Iowa. Pours a mahogany color with a seriously good off white head. The lacing is simply incredible: beautiful wall of lace coats the glass. Not much in the aroma department, though. The beer lacks much of anything. Quite watery in body, it fails to impress upon me the season of gift-giving. The finish is a fowl and harsh bitter bite that leans toward side-tongue pepper. Again, just because you call your beer "Christmas beer" does not mean that you can shtupp us up the arse mit der shite brew.

bottle, pours dark amber with a medium off white head. Nice hop aroma with pine and spiced notes. Flavor is nice toasted malt, balanced well with moderate hop bitterness and a peppery spice in the finish. Nice.

Remembered this being a little better last year. Chestnut-colored, slight hop bitterness. A little fruit, really a deluxe amber kind of brew. Watery and thin though. Not bad for Abita, but not that great either.

The aroma is very interesting with caramel, vanilla, and slight notes of coffee. Flavor is very hoppy, with some coffee again. Finish was very bitter.

Bottle. Pours brown, clear color with a small, frothy brownish head. Lacing is moderate. Aromas of brown sugar, molasses, and butterscotch. Palate is medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation, and a long finish. Tastes of a strange combination of weird sugar, sours, and a strange aftertaste. You cannot drink this beer without making a very funny face.

A clear reddish brown pour with medium off-white head. The aroma is very complex with caramel, vanilla, and nuts. The taste is also a caramel and nut malt with some hop bite in the finish. The texture is sort of oily and the carbonation is very soft.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear, mahogany colored body with a thin, tan head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is caramel malty with some vanilla, nuts, bread, and some flowery citrus hops. Flavor is similar. Starts with a light to moderate caramel sweetness, nuts, and bread. A decent amount of earthy hops balance this throughout before it finishes with a light bitterness. A bit of a citrus, toast, and vanilla spice in there too. Medium body and smooth with a moderate aftertaste. Overall, not bad, but nothing special. A decent malty, earthy, sweetly spiced Christmas Ale. Easy drinking and enjoyable, just unremarkable.
