On cask at the brewpub on 4/3/08. Big thick white head. Nose is malty, tangy, sweetish. Taste is very dry, sweet, musty. Noticeable alcohol. Not bad for the first batch-hoping for more casks in the future. An interesting beer to start off with though...

The Abita brew pub has installed hand pumps! This is their first cask conditioned, hand pumped offering. Poured a very dark brown with an amber hue when held to the light. Tan head that persisted forever. There was still foamy head left when I finished the beer. Fruity nose of pear and apple. Taste of fruit, nut and spice, and just the slightest hint of cinnamon. Dry fruity/sweet finish with a hint peppery sweet spice. This was really good. I look forward to more cask conditioned brews from Abita.
