williamherbert (461), Syracuse, New York, USA Nov 7, 2009 The look is a hazy light copper color. Decent white and foamy head. Light bubby carbonation. Sturdy and pretty nice-looking.
Has a rich bittersweet toasted malt aroma with fresh (English?) hops wafting above. Light caramel and hints of liquid yeast.
The taste is rich toffee and molasses notes over a roasted (not burnt) malt. The hops are a bittering accent which is mild and serves to balance all that sweetness. Hint of pale malt as well.
It feels creamy and thick. Remains on the tongue for sometimes after. Quite substantial. It’s a sweet (caramel/molasses) thick beer with mild and bitter hops. More like a roasted pale than a fall beer, but quite good. A fine Oktoberfest. KYChemist (2), Louisville, USA does not count Oct 22, 2009 Great color but thats abotu all it has going for it. Distiguished malt and hops after taste. It’s nothing special. jeremytoni (1069), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Oct 22, 2009 From a bottle poured brown with a small head. Light malty spicy flavor with a quick finish. Bockyhorsey (2487), Mesa, Arizona, USA Oct 18, 2009 Bottle. Aroma of spice and rather bland. Dark golden body with white head. The spicey bitterness was just to much as allother flavor of beer was not found till last gulp. Rather bland experience. Barrios (852), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Oct 5, 2009 Pours a pale amber body with a lasting ring of off-white head. Aromas of corn and malt sweetness. Sweet malt, floral, butter, slight herbal flavor. Not very dry. argo0 (6861), Washington DC, USA Oct 5, 2009 (12oz bottle) Small off-white head atop lightly hazed amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel/bread, some chocolate tropical fruit, light earthy/spicy. Taste is medium sweet, caramel/chocolate/bread, some orange/lime, light spicy/earthy. Undercarbonated light-medium body, lightly sticky. DrSamPHD (60), Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA Sep 25, 2009 Fall Fest pours a light golden brown, with a medium white head. The aroma is of sweet malt, with a bit of citrus coming through. The body is light and so is the finish. This is a refreshing beer that would seem to be more suitable for summer. I dig it. ben4321 (957), Rockville, Maryland, USA Sep 21, 2009 Location: 12 oz bottle from jcos, 9/21/09
Aroma: Light bready/biscuity malt nose, light fruit
Appearance: Clear golden-orange pour, almost no head
Flavor: Malty up-front, and a semi-sweet fruity flavor follows
Palate: Light-medium, a little too much carbonation, a touch watery
Overall Impression:
I’m surprised I hadn’t rated this one before. This is a decent beer, has some interesting flavors to it, kind of light of nose and a bit watery, but a decent taste. Overall, its average or just above, and drinkable. Nice seasonal beer to enjoy with a football game.
