Commercial Description:
Fleur-de-lis Restoration Ale is made with English Pale, Lager, Crystal and Cara Pils malted barley. We liberally hopped and dry hopped our Ale with American Cascade and Centennial hops and fermented it with California Ale yeast. The result is a brilliant gold ale with a rich body, mild bitterness and a snappy fresh citrus hop flavor and aroma.

Bottle. Small off-white head that mostly diminished, mostly transparent, minimal lacing, visible carbonation, and a golden hue. Nose was hoppy and citrus. Flavor was mildly hop and mild citrus. Tingly mouthfeel. Light body. Just a so-so brew IMO.

Bottle from Slob. Thanks! It’s a little sad when the city (Houston) that took a great portion of Katrina refugees into her care can’t get this beer. It’s even more sad when I, as a Houstonian, have to trade with someone in MARYLAND (no offense to Maryland residents) to get this beer. I’m not asking for a poster proclaiming our (Houstonians) generosity, but c’mon. We should be able to buy this beer. [/SOAPBOX] Pours a deep amber. Aroma is dull hops and a touch of Cajun swampwater. Flavor is a cinammony hops; very reminiscent of an ale that should be partaken during the Christmas holidays. Medium mouthfeel. A session beer.

Pours an amber color. Aroma is nice floral hops with some citrus. Taste is citrus hops with a nice caramel backbone. Easy drinking ale.

12 oz. bottle, from Holiday Wine Cellar. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber, with little to no head, even with a vigorous pour. Sweet fruity and toasty malts, orange juice, apricot, light honey notes and clover with floral hoppiness. Somewhat sweet toasty malt flavor, floral and vegetal notes along with a bitter herbal hop finish. Light to medium body and tingly carbonation.

Pours an amber ale with a generous tan head. Very fruity, floral hops. Tastes slightly bitter, but not to the point of an IPA. Laces well. Has about the maximum hops I can enjoy. Bitter, but not to the point of extreme. Nice finish. A good beer.

First Abita beer I’ve had in a long time. Pours light orange with a bit of haze and no head. Light fruit in the aroma (berry like) with a hint of grain. Very light flavor with easy grain flavors and hints of the berry you note in the aroma. Some kind of grassiness also. Seems like more of a lager than an ale….

This was an odd beer, but one that I actually enjoyed. Poured to a golden color with minimal head, and had no distinct aroma or flavor that I could identify. On the other hand, there was nothing I disliked abvout this beer. It is one of the first I’ve rated that was just a good drinking beer, with little distinguishing features...neither good nor bad. This would make a good session beer.
