Commercial Description:
Abita Golden is a crisp, clean continental lager. Just four ingredients is all it takes: American malt, Mt. Hood hops, German lager yeast and pure Abita spring water. As the name applies, Abita Golden has a brilliant gold color.

I enjoyed this one with a basket of pickle chips after mowing the lawn. It was cold and refreshing with a clean finish. Not much remarkable about it; but, it served its purpose well.

I had this after drinking a Busch Lite, so my rating may be a bit biased. Had a sweetish taste, I pictured myself in New Orleans swiggin’ and eating.

I was surprised that this beer was golden. Soap bubble head. Light malt, with some earthy hops and bubblegum aroma. Rather buttery in flavor.

Bottle... Clear, yellow lager with a small, frothy, white head. Yeasty, peppery aroma with notes of biscuit and canned corn. Mildly malty, well-balanced flavor with very light butterscotch and straw. Light-bodied and slightly creamy with medium carbonation. Short, crisp, clean finish. A bit thin, but definitely better than expected.

Okay, the water is nice, but isn’t this supposed to be a beer? Remind me not to visit the continent where this is considered a lager. Disappointing in every way.

I guess that there must be people in the world who like pils, but I’m not one of them. This beer has a pale (even for a pilsner) yellow color, a thin head that quickly goes away, and a nose like old ripe gym socks. The beer is watery and lacks much flavor. I’ll never buy it again.

More straw hue than golden with a fizzy and fading head and no lace. The aroma has notes of honeycomb, grassy and herbal hops, lightly toasted malts, and a hint of lemon. The taste is quite grainy with a bit of buttery background. Not much bitterness found here. Rather bland and boring but at least there is some taste opposed to most macroswill. The feel is a tad chalky and fizzy, watery as expected. Well, this would be okay if you just came in from a hard day work in 90 degree heat. Otherwise you should pass.
