Decent malt body, clean with a slight bit of citrus in the flavor. Very slight aroma doesn’t really do anything for or against the beer. The hops are almost a no show except for the bit of bitterness in the back. Pretty crisp and drinkable, but nothing special. Cornfield (4972), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA

I had one the other night in replacement of a spoiled bottle of Three Floyd’s Robert the Bruce (the beer poured black). Abita’s Golden has a nice crisp taste over a mild malty aroma. It’s steps ahead of the mass-market swill. A very decent lager, you’ll usually find some in my refridgerator. Hoss (602), Florida, USA

It didn’t taste bad, but it also didn’t make me say "great beer" like some do.. It was OK to drink on a hot day, but I don’t think I would go out of my way to get it. The golden color did look nice KAggie97 (2480), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA

Aroma is grainy and corny and not very pleasant. Flavor is thin and watery with some grainy notes. A really bad and bland beer. JMerritt (1321), Macomb, Illinois, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Jun 13, 2004 Pale golden in color. Head that initially roars to life with a loud fizz quickly drops to nothingness. Slightly grainy aroma, very mildly skunky, with some metallic (copper) whiffs. Sweet corn flavor, mild grains, semi-sweet malts. Very watery and thin. fly (1333), austin, Tejas, USA

Commenting on the former, it’s a bit grainy, but easy going, light, easy going lager. Hope that you get a fresh one.
