Commercial Description:
Abita Golden is a crisp, clean continental lager. Just four ingredients is all it takes: American malt, Mt. Hood hops, German lager yeast and pure Abita spring water. As the name applies, Abita Golden has a brilliant gold color.

Pours pale gold with a thin white head. Aroma is grainy malt and grassy hop. Flavour is clean light grainy malt, faint grassy hop, perhaps a touch of lemon water citrus if you really try.

Pours a light, somewhat hazy yellow with white head. Aroma of slight lemon. Flavor has a slight citris profile. Is watery with high carbonation. Over all, not bad, a good session drinker on a hot day....almost seems like a watered down summer ale.

Bottle courtesy of Bu11zeye. Golden color with no head. Nose is grass and some light citrus. Taste is almost like pure lemony water with some wheat and a bit of grass as well. A very weak effort but at least they are proud of their spring water.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. I think it is this, and not the Golden Ale (retired). Pours a clear golden color with a small, white head. Aroma of grass and lemon. Taste is light citrus and some grass. Thin mouthfeel fizzy.

12oz bottle(7/20/08)-Pours a clear golden body with a small ring for a head and has an aroma of skunk and malt. The taste is the same. This light bodied brew would not be bad if you can get rid of the skunk.

Pours a typical clear golden colour. Head is quick to build and quick to subside. Aroma is light in fruit and hint of floral character. Taste is pretty basic- grain, corn and light fruit. A little grassy midpalate.
