Commercial Description:
Abita Golden is a crisp, clean continental lager. Just four ingredients is all it takes: American malt, Mt. Hood hops, German lager yeast and pure Abita spring water. As the name applies, Abita Golden has a brilliant gold color.

12oz bottle from Total Wine (Tampa, FL). Pours a hazy, yellow golden with a thin white head that diminishes rapidly leaving little lacing. Aroma is straw, wheat, fresh hay, grass, spice, some vague hints of fruit. Flavor is thin and somewhat watery with hints of sweet malt, honey, grass, and wheat. Quick, uninteresting finish.

12 oz bottle. Pours a pale straw yellow with a good size fizzy white head. Lots of carbonation. The aroma is very grassy, nearly devoid of hops, with some bready malt. The flavor is very thin with just a light pale bready maltiness and a lightly lemony finish. Mouthfeel is thin and fizzy as expected with a short limp finish. Overall, not the most flavorful beast, but a step above the macro Pale Lagers.

Pours a foggy crystal golden. Light white head. Aroma is slight and yeasty. Slight hint of corn. Flavor is a little surprising after the aroma. Still slightly corny, but good pilsner malt and slight hop flavor. While not anything special at all, this is a good, smooth brew. Nice on a hot summer day.

Bottle. Grassy hop aroma with light malt. Slightly hazy gold color with a decent white head. Thin to medium body with sharp carbonation that turns creamy. A little watery, not much hop, could be a faint hit of "hot" hop spice. Finishes a little herby. Fairly clean. Not much to it, all in all.

Pours gold with a white head. Smells of sweet malt, some pepper, touches of stray hops. Tastes watery with some inoffensive malt and an earthy finish.

Well this is your typical slug in the sun kind of beer with a fancy name (at least I’ve never heard of them). Golden colored, small head, some lacing. It looks slightly better than a Bud, Coors or Miller. Somewhat grassy tasting with a touch of hops and lemon but overall it’s watery. It’s important to note that there is no skunk or foul taste to this. It’s very easy drinking but there’s just not much to it. I won’t buy it again as I’ll just buy the cheap stuff to suit this purpose but I’ll drink one if someone gives it to me.

This beer is pretty odd in my eyes. It pours very very very clear golden in color with little head. Looks lighter than bud light. Aroma of the beer has a strong skunky scent. Flavor is virtually absent in this beer minus the final sweet taste of corn and slight bit of hops. The carbonation is pretty decent and the mouth feel is kinda surprising since its so light and clear in color was expecting a very watered down beer but wasn’t the case. Overall, a beer I am only going to have once.

Orange-tinted gold, clear, thick white head with surprisingly decent retention. Not much in the aroma department, a little stinky, a little grainy. Same in the flavour department too. Average.
