Commercial Description:
Abita Golden is a crisp, clean continental lager. Just four ingredients is all it takes: American malt, Mt. Hood hops, German lager yeast and pure Abita spring water. As the name applies, Abita Golden has a brilliant gold color.

Pale yellow-gold hue with a quick white head. Sweet corn and herbal hop aromas. Mild solvent notes and a clean, grainy character. Flavors are dry and crisp with a bitter finish.

12-oz. bottle of Golden pours true to its name, with a 1-finger white head that fizzled out quickly. Smelled like sweet hay. Taste was disappointing, like watery corn syrup that faded quickly with little oomph in the finish.

Pours a frost-hazed golden holding a white head for only a short while. Faint pale malts apparent in a vague, lagered aroma. Inoffensive. Mildly nutty, milky flavor with a touch of diacetyl. Finishes bitter but lingers bittersweet.

Bottle from Total Wine. Pours a light gold color with minimal head. Easy drinking, not much aroma to it. It seems like a step up from Budweiser, but that is as far as I would go with it.

had in 2005...Pours with a foamy healthy medium head, good lacing, golden colour..sweet almost wheat honey smell..faint smell..good taste, like beer soaked frosted flakes, kinda sweet, a little weak but pleasing in the hot new orleans wheather!

Very thin, with a corny, watery taste. Some people complain about the water in Abita beer- I’m not one of them. But this beer is indeed a bit too watery.

Ratings go two ways on Abita Golden and I’m going with the lowside. Corny, watery beer that was part of a Abita variety pack. Next time if I thirst for Abita spring water I’ll just make the drive to Covington, LA.
