Papsoe (9697), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 17, 2005 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Golden (as promised), not much of a head but high on carbonation. A bit watery but with a pretty good malt charater though. Discreet hoppiness. Good thirst quencher but not much personality. argo0 (6019), Washington DC, USA Apr 25, 2004 Crystal clear straw with medium white head. Aroma is mild, grassy, some metallic, light grain. Taste is lemon, grass, very mild grassy bitter finish. Light, crisp body. Decent lawnmower beer. hopscotch (4379), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Jun 1, 2005 Bottle... Clear, yellow lager with a small, frothy, white head. Yeasty, peppery aroma with notes of biscuit and canned corn. Mildly malty, well-balanced flavor with very light butterscotch and straw. Light-bodied and slightly creamy with medium carbonation. Short, crisp, clean finish. A bit thin, but definitely better than expected. Cornfield (4245), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Sep 13, 2004 The current ubiquitious drink of New Orleans.... I had one the other night in replacement of a spoiled bottle of Three Floyd’s Robert the Bruce (the beer poured black). Abita’s Golden has a nice crisp taste over a mild malty aroma. It’s steps ahead of the mass-market swill. A very decent lager, you’ll usually find some in my refridgerator. JPDIPSO (4185), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Jan 12, 2004 Was not sure of the style when I purchased and did not look at the label closely, but when I openned this there was no doubt that this was a lager. Slightly hazy light golden color with a diminished dense white head. Pale malt nose with a hint of spicy hops. Pale malt flavors, with a light bitterness. A straight forward not pretenses type lager.
