I like the aroma but I can't quite place it - it's actually slightly odd (but in a good way). This was a very good beer, which surprised me because I wasn't expecting too much. Very crisp, clean and refreshing. JohnDo2000 (99), Metairie, Louisiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 15, 2002 This is a wheat beer that abita produces year round. Apparently the brewery intends on improving this beer in the next few months with it’s new machinery. I had no idea it was a wheat beer untill they told me, but oh well. At times, it is a bit more appeasing than the amber because it isn’t as sweet, but amber remains a better beer. It’s a bit thinner, but doesn’t leave that certain something to be desired like any other light beer. It’s less of a wheat beer than thier summer wheat, but has more body to it than the wheat. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 17, 2003 This beer had more character than I thought it would. Gold in color, coarse white head. It had a fruity, hoppy taste that came together well....finish was clean and refreshing....not bad at all. Aurelius (2648), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 13, 2002 A very good lager. The aroma is very inviting and rich and buttery. Flavor is crisp, but not too carbonated. Palate is satisfying and a bit thicker than most mass market lagers. williamherbert (466), Syracuse, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 7, 2009 Has a cloudy golden yellow with a proud finger of head. Looks more thick and chunky than a typical lager.
Dry lager/pilsnery malt smell. Light but clearly all-malt. Bitter but mild (Hallertauer?) hops. The malt is of a very German-lagery variety.
Sweetness to the bitter malt taste. The hops are an accent but they are strong. The taste matches the smell very well. It’s a nice lager, but much better than the typical pale macro fare.
Feels light and bubbly; actually has the feel of a nice Belgian ale. A little spiky. It’s a light and easy drinking lager with some nice flavor. A good alternative to the stuff you might otherwise be drinking this summer. gws57 (1137), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 15, 2004 One of the better lagers I’ve had. Rich golden color with a thin head that dissiapted quite slowly, thicker mouthfeel than most lagers, very little nose of note, slightly malty taste. This wasn’t too bad. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 12, 2004 Was not sure of the style when I purchased and did not look at the label closely, but when I openned this there was no doubt that this was a lager. Slightly hazy light golden color with a diminished dense white head. Pale malt nose with a hint of spicy hops. Pale malt flavors, with a light bitterness. A straight forward not pretenses type lager.
