Bouquet is strong sweet citrus hops and pine. Taste is lighter and more malty than the nose would suggest, but still a solid IPA. Nothing really new here, but a good IPA. troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 31, 2008 [Bottle] Pours a light amber color with a small amount of white head. Hoppy aroma, with plenty of citrus. Taste is more on the malty side, with biscuit and light toasted caramel notes. A good amount of hops in here, with a light citrus finish. Better than expected mouthfeel, which is probably due to the decent balance within the beer. Overall, this is not a bad IPA... but pretty run-of-the-mill as well. willblake (2180), Belcamp, Maryland, USA

I guess if I lived in Louisiana and my main priority was quenching my thirst from all that godawful heat, then Abita beers would really hit the spot. But I am not. This is a fine example of an utterly average IPA. Aroma and flavor full of light C-hop notes and biscuity malts. Sweet, peach and tropical hops, hints of doughy yeast. Unremarkable but not poorly made either. smjohnst (203), , Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 28, 2008 Pretty good IPA. A little bit watery like all of the other Abita beers that Ive had but it did have a good IPA flavor. morrdt (608), Jacksonville, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 27, 2008 12 oz. beer from Total Wine, in Jacksonville, FL. I was surprised to see this make its way over from Louisiana, considering they did not ever send anything but the most common ones. Pours a amber orange color with a small head. Aroma is nice and hoppy, taste is dry, a bit of citrus, and a good finish. One of Abita beers best. SudsMcDuff (1695), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 23, 2008 ...pours a golden syrup with a playa style white head and real proper lacing .. some pine and bark with honey hints .. very easy to drink, probably due partly to the mouthfeel .. a milder IPA, good for beginners, and a nice change of pace from some of the crazed,,,,,,i am gonna stab that bitch in the eye with a ball point for asking me if i can find a merlot from california with cherry skin undertones that comes in a green bottle,,,,,,kind of hopbomb we seem to be drinking lately..
..a nice job from Abita.. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Dec 23, 2008 On tap at Sunset Grill on multiple occasions. A very ruddy, amber-orange colored beer, with a small white head. Clear. A shot of cascade-like hoppiness is felt first in the nose, but is quickly followed and drowned out by a wallop of sweet, fat, sticky malts that are much to caramelly and syrupy for me. The flavor is surprisingly a bit more dry and allows more hoppiness, or really just mostly bitterness, but its somewhat more balanced in the flavor than in the aroma. That is, until the beer begins to warm, when toffee, caramel and unfermented sugars blast through and make an utter mess of the beer. Sharp, brutal hops and alcohol dominate the sugary finish. Medium bodied. No thanks. dwyerpg (2537), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Dec 19, 2008 A strange sour aroma to this. The flavor on this is just a bit funkified. Some maltiness in the finish, but mostly not that good.
