Clear amber orange with off-white fluffy head. Flavor is also dominated by carmelized malts, floral and resiny hops.. Overall pretty well balanced. Medium body with a sweet rather bitter finish. brentfeesh (1038), Gadsden, Alabama, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Aug 10, 2008 12oz bottle enjoyed pool side on Scots BD. the aroma and flavor are nearly identicle. Lots of spice and earthy notes. That is it. It’s realy like drinking a mouth full of forest earth. Just a touch of pine too boot. My friend really likes this one, and thinks its a bit like hop devil. I’d have to agree. beerbill (1952), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 9, 2008 Bottle sampled at NFB&WF ’08 at Martha Clara Vineyards. Pours a clear, very rich looking gold. Aroma is mostly pine with a few citrus notes. Flavor is again mostly pine with a bit of grapefruit and a weak malt backbone. Bitter at the finish. Nothing special about this IPA. blutt59 (2110), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 7, 2008 12oz bottle. copper orange pour with almost nonexistent off white head. the aroma blew me away - strong floral, citrus, caramel malt, pepper and pine hops. The taste doesn’t measure up to the aroma, but not bad. Starts with nice hop and citrus then goes to caramel and bread. the finish is malt - stingy and chalky (is that possible?). very different from start to finish. I don’t think I’ve had an Abita I liked - so this was surprisingly good... relatively speaking. jeffwilliams11 (310), hooterville, Michigan, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 31, 2008 this is a really drinkable beer. nice amber color, quality sustained head. mild hop flavor, not overly bitter. sort of tastes like a low alcohol barleywine with the maltieness and citrus hop flavor. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 30, 2008 Nice red/amber colour with a firm foam. For an american IPa not so much hop aroma. Aroma of bensaldehyde / amaretto. This is also present in the taste. Rather sweet and lacks a bitt of bitterness. Much caramell malts. phishpond417 (1946), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 28, 2008 This beer pours a very bright coloured, clear copper colour with no head but decent spotted lacing. Aroma is slightly hopped, fruity and a little bit of grapefruit on the nose. a little biscuity as well. mouthfeel is light, but bubbly and hoppy. semi sweet at first but finishes pretty dry. nice beer!
