Not overly hop bitter - a dainty, delicate copper color lends itself to a fairly malty character. Very balanced, drinkable, flavorful, and underrated in my opinion. The flavor profile and palate is a complete clone of Ballast Point Big Eye (maybe just a notch worse)... def better than 3.2. ElJefe (553), Rochester, New York, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 18, 2008 Golden amber with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. Pretty light, fruity aroma of peaches and some citrus. Lightly bitter flavor, orange rind mostly. Somewhat short finish, especially for an IPA. Sammy (4050), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Some fruity citrus hop taste at first, and then watered down. Drinkable stuff. Serviceable IPA.Recently found at Premiere Gourmet. Strong carbonation. Swalden28 (1514), McKinney, Texas, USA

Poured a nice hazy orange/amber with nice off-white head, good retention. Aroma of some slight grapefruitish citris.
Flavor is semi-sweet, hoppy citris and hoppy bitter. Palate is medium carb, medium-full body. Nice balanced beer....This would rate a seconf up to a begginner IPA. Good hop flavor, aroma could be better. Rather sweet finish leavs me craving more hops. MarkBarnes (266), Waterville, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 14, 2008 May 14, 2008; 12 oz. bottle. My first Abita brew. Yeasty & vaguely floral aroma. A malty, spicy IPA at first swig, nicely balanced by remarkable long-lived hop bitterness. Flavor has a cinnamon note in there somewhere. Zesty & fun, but not as full-flavored as the best of the style. CharlesDarwin (1849), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 14, 2008 12oz Bottle. Noses a really soft, subtle caramel and hops. Faint malt. Some distant yeast aromas. Should have much more aroma, especially at this temperature. Pours a crystal clear orange-amber, with a well-sustaining soapy off-white head. Flavor comes as a surprise. A thin metallic bitterness, some washed out Crystal malt, a bit of pine needle and lemon rind. Light. Fresh. Flavors are just too meek and mild. Hops are mostly as bitterness, not flavor and the malt has too much Crystal in it for my palate. Some celery seed develops on the back end. Yeast delivery is clean, but then it is filtered so let’s hope that’s the case. Meh. My first Louisiana beer, though. Thanks Sean! brewblackhole (1385), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA
