Sammy (3135), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 17, 2008 Pours peachy with foaming head that dissapears. A bit of hop aroma. Some fruity citrus hop taste at first, and then watered down. Drinkable stuff. Serviceable IPA.Recently found at Premiere Gourmet. Strong carbonation.
marksahara (73), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Oct 7, 2008 12 oz bottle all around ATL. Pours a yellowish orange with creamy white crown that has minimal-to-moderate retention and very little lacing. Aroma is full of citrus and fruity hops, very unique and likable with a slight malt undertone. Flavour is aggressive at first taste with initial hop bitterness all the way through the taste to the crisp and somewhat bitter finish, but there is a good malt backbone to support the hops. Very decent drinker with moderate carbonation that does not interfere with the taste profile. There is some sweetness in the malt that offsets and balances the hops in the beer. This is much different than a West Coast-style IPA, which is a very good quality for this beer. I’m glad I can get it here in Atlanta, as it’s a safe choice and a reliable drinker for the price. Best beer Abita brews, in my opinion. tubehead (6), Atlanta, Georgia, USA does not count Oct 5, 2008 This is a pleasant IPA - more bitter than most. It pours a nice gold color and has a unique taste - citrus? for an IPA. It has a malty flavor with a dry finish. Not my favorite IPA but I give it credit for originality - I will certainly drink it again. fiulijn (5880), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Oct 5, 2008 Clear amber color. It starts with a quite nice hop aroma, almost fleshy, meaty; then it turns more into toffee. Medium body, with a sweet toffee flavor, soft mouthfeel, strong but not aggressive bitterness. The hops show both some resiny and fruity character, but the final gets a cookie character too. An original American Pale Ale. zach8270 (1421), Henrietta, New York, USA Oct 5, 2008 (bottle - 12 oz) Clear gold in color with a fizzy white head. Aroma is light and floral with hints of hops, honey, citrus, and grass. Flavor is very mild as well. Some floral hops at the beginning with a bitter and hoppy middle and a bitter finish that lasts for a bit. taalhiker (111), Dayton, Ohio, USA Oct 3, 2008 From bottle. Pours clear golden with a small white head. Smells like warm sweet citrusy honey. Flavors are mild and well balanced with more malt than expected. Would not guess it’s ~6.5%.
