jeff789 (357), Pennsylvania, USA Nov 6, 2009 Copper in color with a nice white head... Aroma of sticky sweet caramel malt, expecting hoppiness that is non existant... Initial hit of the same caramel that mellows into a nice slightly malty nutty amber ale that thins at the end... A touch hoppy at the very end... You can not call a beer a harvest ale if it has no discernable hoppiness at the front... watson1977 (250), , Pennsylvania, USA Nov 6, 2009 pours a very clear golden honey color with a medium sized light tan head. aroma is nutty...reminds me of acorns...also some maple syrup and has a slight malty sweetness of caramel with a touch of earthy hops. flavor has very little of what the aroma promises...slight caramel and nuttiness...almost like a budweiser with caramel malt added. mouthfeel is very watery and finish is nearly non existent. iggynelix (12), Pennsylvania, USA Nov 6, 2009 Barely nutty enough to notice it’s a Pecan beer. Maltness like light bread; Lightly hopped hints of spice and vanilla, but not overly sweet. Thin white head on a very clear amber coloured ale. finishes lightly Fratto (670), Arlington, Texas, USA Nov 4, 2009 Bottle from Cavie. Well, it smells like stale pecans. It tastes like pecans too. I don’t like pecans. nickd717 (1276), Palo Alto, California, USA Nov 2, 2009 Bottle at NOLA in Palo Alto. Pours a mostly clear amber color with a creamy one-finger white head. Aroma is caramel malt, pecan’ and spice. Flavor is somewhat mild but pleasant with caramel malt, pecans, bread, and some earthy hop bitterness. Medium-light body with a fairly smooth palate and soft carbonation. Not too exciting, but pretty good overall. Cavie (1317), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Nov 1, 2009 Clear orange red pour. Smells very musty and has an old fart quality. This smells horrible. Taste has some nut quality to it with a malty backbone as well. Bitter finish. This has GOT to be a bad bottle. I mean, no one else lists old fart in their rating! Slightly improves as it warms. foundersfan (11), Ohio, USA Nov 1, 2009 Bottle. Very watered down ale with little spice to be called harvest ale. Only pecan to found was in the aroma. Not so great. Edmoe (126), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 29, 2009 Mahogany color with decent head; no lace. Aroma is nutty with just a touch of malty sweetness and spice. Medium bodied beer with modest maltiness. Well balanced and clean finish. Not particularly exciting...good session beer though. Liked it more than I was expecting.
