Commercial Description:
It may sound nuts, but most ales with nutty flavors or aromas are made without any real nuts. Abita Pecan Harvest Ale is made with real Louisiana pecans. The natural oils from the nuts give the ale a light pecan finish and aroma. It’s wonderful paired up with both red meats and seafood - and no suprise it’s great with nuts too. Abita Pecan Harvest Ale, crack one open for yourself today.

Very rich flavor, almost that of a nut brown. Good looking amber ale. Overall smooth but does have a bit of a bite. Though I have been very impressed with Abita in the past this one is just an average amber full of rich nutty flavor.

Bottle pours hazy amber with thin quick diminishing off white head. Aroma is nutty sweet malt. First taste is sweet but very well balanced. The nuts come through in the finish but very mild. Like an amber nut ale or really light brown ale. Not true to the style but I really like this one.

Poured a pretty clear coppery amber with a thin white head. It seems to have pretty low carbonation. It smells wonderful--very nutty and a little fruity. It feels medium-bodied and it’s flavor is just as wonderful at the smell! You can really taste the pecan and it finishes very smoothly. This brew really offers an enjoyable experience--I’ll definitely buy this one again and I highly recommend other to try it.

12 oz bottle from GM Liquors; Nose is pecans all the way with some caramel mixed in; add some coconut and dark chocolate for an Almond Joy! Clear copper with a medium beige head; flavor is nutty caramel with a bit of sweetness balanced by a bitter hop note. Different!

(bottle) Clear amber body with a big, beige head. Aroma is nutty and sweet with malt. Thin body; watery and flat. Lots of pecan in the flavor. Mild bitterness, and a little metallic. Not much else to say.

Amber color with cream colored head. Nutty Aroma. Smooth caramel malty nutty taste. A little bitter pecan taste at end. Oily feel in mouth. The pecan taste is faint and the warmer the beer gets the more the flavor comes out. This beer is unique but not outstanding.

Bottle from Hi-Time in SoCal. Poured and orange/copper color. The smell of pecan was overpowering. The taste of pecan was also overpowering. Pecans in beer = not a good idea. Didn’t even finish it all.
