Oct 1, 2008 Pours copper with a one finger fizzy tan head. The nose is malty, kind of cornish, a little nutty, not too appealing but not as offsetting as I expected. The flavor is malty, also nutty, a tad sweet, some metallic hoppy bitterness. The palate is a tad crisp doesnt offer much. Not as disgusting as I expected.

Sep 30, 2008 Sampled at Hills Market beer tasting. Pours a dark orange-brown color with a medium off-white head that dissipates quickly. Stringy lacing. Aroma of pecans and pralines, plus a little malt. Medium-bodied with a sweet and nutty character. Some malt and chocolate flavor as well, but none of the flavors really shines. The finish is short and nutty with a light sweet spice aftertaste that is reminiscent of pecan pie. Overall, whether your pronounce it ’peh-kan’ or ’pea-can’, this beer is barely average.

Sep 30, 2008 No head, cloudy brown copper color, no lacing. Sickly sweet aroma, reminiscent of pumpkin. Gross sweet nutty flavor, tastes sort of like a diaper smells. Another weak effort from Abita, why do I even try anymore...

Sep 28, 2008 bottle - Pours clear almost orange in color. It has a light malt aroma. The flavor is pretty much all sweet malt. It’s just a little nutty. Light bodied and smooth, this beer is average is pretty much every way.

Sep 25, 2008 Clear amber pour with a small foamy head. Aroma is light roasted nuts and malt with a touch of caramel. Flavor is lots of sweet roasted malt with just a touch of nuts and brown sugar on the finish. A pretty average beer until the nuts kick in, and that raises it to just above average.

Sep 24, 2008 12 oz. bottle courtesy of Doboy. Aroma - Brown sugar and nuts certainly quite evident, hints of spice. Appearance - Clear amber, substantial off white head tha lasts well, although lace is sparse. Flavor - Sweetness of the malts comes through initially, flavor is rounded out by a soft bitterness that has a light peppery character. Palate - Medium body, light carbonation, fairly smooth, but with a mildly syrupy character. Overall - I wasn’t expecting much from this beer, but all in all, it’s not too bad. Some sticky sweetness, but I think that is intended, and it seems to fit well for the season.

Sep 20, 2008 Aroma of nuts, malts. Flavor is nutty, malty sweetness with a lasting bitter finish. A pretty good fall seasonal if i may say so. Unexpected, but good.
