Commercial Description:
It may sound nuts, but most ales with nutty flavors or aromas are made without any real nuts. Abita Pecan Harvest Ale is made with real Louisiana pecans. The natural oils from the nuts give the ale a light pecan finish and aroma. It’s wonderful paired up with both red meats and seafood - and no suprise it’s great with nuts too. Abita Pecan Harvest Ale, crack one open for yourself today.

Heheheh, I’m not a lover of pecans nor am i an expert on them. This has a plain old good beer aroma with no off hints. On the nose, perhaps i detect some chocolate malt and woody texture. A little hazy and brownish yellow. Fizz is below average but has a pleasant amount of carbonation. Some background bitterness on the palate, as with most ales. A little barmy farmy at times as the session continues. Not sure if the pecan flavor is really there.

I’m afraid that this doesn’t do it for me. It taste too thin and weak and there is a hardly any flavor of malts, hops nor pecans. Almost works as a sumer quencher.

The aroma does have some pecans but it seems somewhat strange. Not bad but odd in a paper kind of way. There is some malt though. The appearance is orange and the head thin. The flavor is like the aroma with a bitter nutty finish. The palate is thin. It’s a nice try but not great.

Bottle. Amber pour with small head. Hint of nutty aroma but not overpowering. Very thin, nothing bold about this offering. Dissapointed.

Not being a Fan of Pecan’s hurt this one for me. The pecan taste was there and was a turn-off for me. For people that like pecans this would probley be a pallateable beer for them.

Nice but small head, malty, nutty.. sortof strange.. I like IPA’s but was talked into this 6 pack. I’ll give most of it away. It does have a nice creamy mouthfeel.

Strongly nutty aroma over caramel malt. Coppery amber color with a white/beige head. Near medium body with mild creamy carbonation. Body thins a lot as the carbonation leaves. Flavor is caramel sweetness with something like nut skin bitter. The finish is a bit watery with nut skin bitterness. Washes prosciutto down nicely. Might be a little rough without the meat.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a transparent uncarbonated light brown colored body. The smooth aroma was malty. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt hops mild caramel and mild nut. An OK brew just nothing special.
