| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jan 25, 2008 This amber ale poured with an off-white head that quickly dissipated. There is a pleasant nutty aroma, but the flavor is quite disappointing. There is a thin malt taste with a harsh bitter finish. dchmela (1452), Orlando, Florida, USA

Big crushed nut and malt aroma. Light malty nutty taste. Kind of a novelty beer, I could not see drinking more than one of these. rodneykm (109), Westminster, South Carolina, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jan 24, 2008 Bottle from Tilley4. Anber with minimal head. Aroma has some buttery pecan like aroma, faint malt and not much else. Flavor much the same, pecan and overly sweet malt profile. SDalkoholic (1196), Chula Vista, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 19, 2008 12 oz bottle from Pizza Port’s bottle shop. In the aroma, I find a very light nut aroma with a touch of sweet malts but it’s just way to subdued for me to appreciate. The flavor was identical to how I described the aroma since it was so plain and had little offer in the name of pecans. However, on a good note the color was a beautiful golden hue with a firm pillow of foam that was nice to gaze upon. StFun (534), Indiana, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 17, 2008 was really looking forward to this one. i mean...pecan beer, how cool is that? sadly, i was really let down. not that the beer is bad...just average. for all the hope i had about something resembling pecan pie in a bottle, what i got instead was an average amber with a syrup flavor. slight nutty aroma, but nothing that screams PECAN, and the pecan flavor was a little too sticky sweet. i tried not to rate this TOO low, since its partly my fault for havign such high expectations. jtw (943), farmington, Michigan, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 16, 2008 bottle thanks to jrob_21! i think this brew is getting a bum rap because of some of the other beers that abita makes. malty sweet aroma, woody and slightly nutty, although i don’t think i would have identified pecan - it’s got more cedar than pecan, and cedar would be a more believable beer flavor than pecan. relatively light-bodied and mildly flavored, a bit of astringency in the finish. interesting, and definitely not bad. certainly worth a shot!
